Shower goodies are the best kind of goodies as they can turn things around in a twenty minute window. The products above do a good job of transforming me from a greasy haired, slightly gross person into a gleaming and shiny brand new lady.
If I haven't cleansed already, I just massage in some Ren Clarifying Clay Cleanser and take it off with a muslin cloth. I love cleansing this way in the shower as the hot steam that surrounds you makes it a deep clean and leaves your face feeling so clean and refreshed.
To lather up and get my skin feeling tingly fresh, I use Dr Bronner Soap. At the moment I am using the Tea Tree flavour but there are lots of different variations with this soap. I love it as it has no chemicals or additives in it. It's completely organic plus the bottle is covered in loopy facts and sayings which keep me entertained when I am waiting for my conditioner to soak in. The tea tree one is great for feeling fresh, I also love the rose one as the scent is very subtle and pretty. A little bit goes a long way with this too, just a little squirt on your sponge and you have a bucket load of lather to get you clean. When you consider how much you use a shower gel and how close it gets to all your bits, I think it is really important to use something without parabens or potentially harmful chemicals.
For hair, I usually use Aussie products because they seem to work OK but I saw a really good deal in Superdrug on the new Tresemme Keratin Smooth range and thought I'd give them a go. I got the shampoo and the intensive mask as I tend to use a conditioning mask each time I wash my hair rather than a normal conditioner as my hair is so dry. From the first time I used them, I really felt a change in my hair. I always think people are chatting crap when they say this kind of thing but I actually experienced it myself with this range. My hair feels softer, glossier and less straw like. Even when I just rough dry it and put it in a bun after, it just feels so healthy! I also feel much more movement with my hair. I'm really impressed with this range and considering it's price, it's going to be my new regular hair care for sure.
Then I have my trusty disposable Venus razor, I always use a disposable one rather than a fancy one that sticks on your shower wall as I think they just get really grotty very quickly and you end up having to replace the more expensive ones regularly anyway.
The "Best Smelling Product in my Shower Award" goes to my Palmers Cocoa Butter Body Scrub. The best way to describe using this is comparing it to rubbing chocolate chip ice cream into your skin. It smells amaaaazing! In regards to it's scrubbing power it does a decent job and it is also not drying on your skin like many other scrubs, it's very gentle.
Just underneath I have a wide toothed comb that I got from Home and Bargain for under a pound. It hangs from my shower stand and is great for combing through conditioner. Next to that I have exfoliating gloves, which are great for getting fake tan stains off pronto.
All together, these products make showering a very pleasant business and I recommend all of them if you are in the market for anything new for our shower stand.
